About Queen Esther
My name is Ella Mann, and I am proud to be Jewish.
Queen Esther was a Jewish woman who became the queen of Shushan and is known for saving the Jewish people from annihilation, and inaugurating the festival of Purim. She was a figure characterized by her beauty, spending a lot of time and effort on her physical appearance through clothes and makeup. Her selection as queen is even known to be because of her beauty and her elegance.
On my blog, I will be spotlighting the contributions of different Jewish women to the fashion industry as well as how they honor their faith and Jewish identity. I chose the name "Queen Esther" for this blog not only because these fashion leaders exhibit similar traits of expressing themselves through beauty, but also due to their fight for Jewish representation in the space. I want to honor these women for their embodiment of Queen Esther’s spirit, and for their dedication to helping and empowering the Jewish community.
Due to the recent uptick in antisemitism, my mission is to highlight the contributions of Jewish women to both the fashion industry and the Jewish community.
